Brian Kane

brianKane1.jpgBrian J. Kane attended the Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship, graduated magna cum laude in 1995, and later received an M.S.M. from Bridgewater State College. As a professional saxophonist and flautist, he has performed in over 2000 live performances running the gamut of music styles. Brian has performed and studied with musical greats like Herb Pomeroy, Alan Dawson, Arturo Sandoval, George Garzone, John Lockwood, Jiggs Whigham, Tom Scott, Whit Browne, John Wheatley, and hundreds of other wonderful musicians in the New England Area. Presently, Brian is an active musician performing in jazz groups, rock and popular bands, and commercial recording.

A dedicated music educator, Brian has taught classroom music in both public and private schools for over 10 years and given over 10,000 private lessons on saxophone. Brian is the author of the books Creative Jazz Sight Reading, The Jazz Style and Technique Series, Singing Tongue Twisters A-Z and of numerous published articles on jazz pedagody and creative teaching. He has developed innovative teaching techniques for jazz styles, sight reading, and melodic improvisational concepts. Presently living in the greater Boston area, Brian is available for clinics and master classes on a wide range of topics.
